LOCATION

Singapore Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple is situated in Little India, Serangoon Road, Singapore. This Temple follows the Vaikhanasa system of worship.

The Temple is worshipped according to Sri Vaikhanasa Bhagavat Sastra i.e. Vaikhanasa Agama, even followed in the Tirupati Temple.

In this temple Pancha Bhera Vidhana i.e. Panca Bheras namely Dhruva, Kautuka, Utsava, Snapana and Bali bheras idols are installed.

Details of the Panchabhera

1. Dhruva Bhera i.e. Moolavar Swami, Sri Srinivasa Perumal with his consort Sri Devi & Bhoo Devi

2. Kautuka Bhera i.e Plasmid Narasimhar, It should not moved from the garbhagruha

3. Utsava Bhera i.e Sri Srinivasa Perumal with his consort in the form of Panchaloka vigraha

4. Snapana Bhera i.e Sri Srinivasa Perumal with his consort in the form of Panchaloka vigraha for the purpose of doing snapana thirumanjanam i.e. Abhisheka

5. Bali Bhera i.e only Sri Srinivasa Perumal in the form of Panchaloka vigraha for the purpose of doing bali at the time of poojas especially during the Brahmotsavam

Details of the Worshipping time

 Suprabhatam and Visvaroopa Seva i.e Darshan at 6.15 A.M

 Prathak Kaala Aradhana i.e. Kaala Santhi pooja at 8.00 A.M

 Ucchikaala Aradhana i.e. pooja at 12.00 noon

 Sayamkala Aradhana i.e. pooja at 6.00 P.M

 Visesha Aradhana i.e. pooja at 7.30 P.M

 Ardhajaama Aradhana i.e. pooja 9.00 P.M

The Special naivedyam (thaligai- different varities of prasadam) offerings to Lord are done six times in a day and Goshti Viniyogam (public distribution) also done at the time of every pooja.

Shrines of different deities in the Temple

There are separate shrines for Sri Mahalakshmi Thayar, Sri Andal, Sri Chakkarathaazhvar, Sri Vishnu Durgai, Sri Pakshirajan, Sri Anjaneyar and Sri Vinayakar.

Special Events and important Festivals

Special poojas are performed in a grand manner during Ekadasi, Sravanam of every month.

In the month of Vaikasi – Vasanta Utsavam is celebrated.

Avani - Pournami, the theerthavari which ends with Pavitra Utsavam.(it is a special occasion)

Purattasi - Suprabhata Seva, Thomala Seva, Thirumanjana Seva Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Homam and Thanga Ratha Utsavam are performed.

Margazhi - Above said all Utsavam and Poojas except Suprabhata Seva are performed

Panguni - Sravana Nakshatra , Theerthavari which ends with Brahma Utsavam is performed

Details of the Temple Aradhakas (Priests) from 1984 onwards

The Temple Aradhanams are done by Vaikhanasa priests who are well versed in Sri Vaikhanasa (Agama) Bhagavat Sastra.

From 1984 to 1987 and 1989 to 1991 – Sri Raju Bhattachariyar, Srivilliputhur

From 1992 to 1999 – Keezhaiyur Sri Sowmya Narayana Bhattachariyar

From 1999 to till date – Ammangudi V.Srinivasa Bhattachariyar

About the present Chief Priest Ammangudi Sri U Ve V Srinivasa Bhattachariyar

Sri U Ve V.Srinivasa Bhattachariyar was born to Kodimangalam Ammangudi Sri Venkatrama Bhattachariyar and Smt. Chellammal couple is well versed in Vaikhanasa Bhagavat Sastra.

He mastered Vaikhanasa Agama Sastra from Vaikhanasa Agama Pandit Vidwan Nadar Sri Srinivasa Bhattachariyar who has mastered from Irandaamkattalai Veda Agama Pathasala and Madurai Kamarajar University.

He has got many degrees in Vaikhanasa Bhagavat Sastra. He has rendered Kainkaryam (service) in various temples like Then Tirupati Oppiliappan Koil, London Sri Mahalakshmi Temple etc. He has performed Maha Samprokshanam in many temples all over the world.

He was the priest in Singapore Sri Srinivasa Temple from 1995 to 1999 and he was promoted as a Chief priest since 1999.

He was awarded with the prestigious award of Sri Vaikhanasa Yaso Bhooshanam award, which was presented by Mr K Shanmugam Minister for Law Singapore through the Hindu Endowment Board in 2008. It is matter of great pride that he is the only priest who has got the first PR status in Singapore by Hindu Endowment Board.
